Ilocos Norte Governor Ma. Imelda Josefa “Imee” Marcos is looking at the possibility of providing free college education to poor but deserving Ilocano youths.
The lady politiko, who is the eldest daughter of former President Ferdinand E. Marcos, is hoping that her proposal will bear fruit as education is the only thing capable of improving the quality of life of all her constituents.
“Ang pangarap ko bilang gobernador ay makapagbigay ng libreng college education. Free college is possible and all poor but deserving students can graduate,” she stressed.
If the program pushes through, Ilocos Norte will be the first province in the Philippines to provide free college education.
“My father, President Ferdinand Marcos, made high school education free. I hope that I, his daughter, will also make college education free,” Imee pointed out.
