As they interred their father, former president Ferdinand E. Marcos, in short notice at the “Libingan Ng Mga Bayani” in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos has appealed for their understanding and thanked them for their whole-hearted support through the years.

“Ako po’y humihingi ng pang unawa sa naging pasya ng aking pamilya na gawing payak, pribado at taimtim ang palibing sa aking ama upang hindi na masaling ang mga nagdaramdam,” the lady politiko, the eldest daughter of the former strongman, said during a press briefing at Villamor Air Base, Pasay City, Friday, November 18.

The former president was buried noontime at the LNMB. Imee also thanked the supporters who backed the burial of her father, a fulfillment of his final request.

The Ilocos Norte governor also thanked President Rodrigo Duterte, a close friend of the Marcoses, and the Supreme Court for allowing the burial.
