The House Committees on Tourism and on Appropriations have approved a measure declaring Dibulo Falls in Dinapigue, Isabela an ecotourism destination.
Under House Bill 9550, the Department of Tourism (DOT) will prioritize the development of the area and make it accessible to attract tourists.
The DOT together with other concerned agencies will prepare a tourism development plan within one year from the enactment of the measure.
Isabela Rep. Alyssa Sheena Tan, author of the measure said the municipality of Dinapigue is a hidden paradise of the north and has great potential to become an eco-tourism destination.
The Dibulo Falls, located in Barangay Dibulo has an approximately 100-meter drop of water with 25-meter wide basin and 20 feet depth.
The falls can be accessed through an estimated three kilometers of rugged road trip from the barangay proper and a 500-meter hike.
In 2018, a total of 1,870 visitors went to Dibulo Falls based on list of tourist arrival.
