House panel eyes charges vs Ilocos Norte officials over anomalous purchase of vehicles
The House of Representatives’ committee on good government and public accountability wants administrative and criminal charges filed against Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos and other provincial government officials over the allegedly anomalous purchase of vehicles.
The committee report released on July 5 said the provincial government’s purchase of 110 Foton minicabs worth P64.5 million was “highly irregular and illegal.”
In addition, the minicabs were supposedly overpriced by P21,450,000.
It also said the purchase was done without public bidding.
The committee did not name the Ilocos Norte officials they want charged but it said Marcos was the one who requested the purchase of the Foton minicabs.
