Senator Imee Marcos appealed to the Department of Trade and Industry to hold off any price hikes on basic goods while parts of the country are under enhanced community quarantine.
The Ilocano politiko reasoned in a Facebook post on Wednesday, August 4, that this is necessary since the promised subsidies for Filipinos are not limitless.
“We need to help keep down costs for ordinary households because social welfare subsidies or ‘ayuda’ are not limitless and their distribution will be staggered,” Marcos said.
She then hopes aid would soon be received by the beneficiaries.
