Nueva Vizcaya Governor Carlos Padilla on March 21 gathered representatives of government offices and agencies to assess the El Niño phenomenon being experienced in the province.
The Nueva Vizcaya politiko said he wanted to know the possible effects of El Niño so the provincial government can prepare.
“The province has only wet and dry season,” Padilla said.
“The dry spell we are experiencing now may just be normal but we will allow your explanation if we are already experiencing the El Niño,” he added.
DOST-PAGASA said Nueva Vizcaya is experience a “weak El Niño.”
The Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Board said it is ready to declare a state of calamity in the province if necessary.
