Nueva Vizcaya Governor Carlos Padilla led the first-ever Farmers and Fisherfolk’s Day (FFD) last May 26 as part of the provincial government’s celebration of the Grand Ammungan Festival.
The provincial government earlier declared the month of May as Farmers and Fisherfolk’s Month.
The Nueva Vizcaya politiko said the FFD aims to recognize contribution of the province’s farmers and fisherfolk.
Padilla said farmers and fisherfolk have consistently produced high-quality harvest.
“Basically, our province is an agricultural area that is why we rely more on agriculture which is being nourished by our farmers,” he said.
“It is time to bring these awards to our farmers who have labored for their family and for our economy,” Padilla added.
