Gov Pacalso eyes extension of state of calamity in Benguet
Benguet Governor Cresencio Pacalso is eyeing the extension of the state of calamity in the province following the onslaught of Typhoon Ompong.
The Benguet earlier declared a state of calamity last September 3 because of the damage done by typhoons Karding and Luis.
The state of calamity was supposed to be lifted in November.
Pacalso earlier cited the bad road conditions and the damage to agricultural products in his declaration of the state of calamity.
“If before, the travel time from Buguias to La Trinidad is only three hours, due to the road condition, it is extended from four to five hours,” he said.
