La Union Governor Emmanuel “Pacoy” Ortega III is mighty proud of what his province has to offer.
As part of his promotion of the upcoming Northern Agri-Tourism Circuit Program on February 25 for La Union’s foundation anniversary, the politiko talked about the maratangtang, how sea urchins are called locally.
“The sea urchins, locally known as ‘maratangtang,’ are among the favourite delicacies of the Ilocanos. Famous for its sweet and juicy taste, both residents and tourists fall in love with the product,” said Ortega.
“More than a thousand sea urchin cages are now strategically disseminated along the sea shores for culturing,” he added.
