Gov Mayam-o concedes defeat in Ifugao congressional race
Ifugao Governor Pedro Mayam-o has accepted his defeat in the battle for Ifugao’s seat in Congress.
The politiko made a concession post on Facebook on May 14.
“The race is over and although things haven’t turned out the way we wanted, let us still be happy for we have to trust the Lord that He has better plans,” said Mayam-o.
“We are grateful to everyone for your wholehearted support and efforts, we always pray to the Lord to bless you and your family and may each one of us find success in our new journey,” he added.
Mayam-o then congratulated the winners of the May 13 elections.
The politiko finished third in the congressional race with 19,638 votes. The victor Solomon Chungalao had 27,324 votes while the second placer Eugene Balitang got 25,362 votes.
