Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos on April 22 finally confirmed that she is considering running for Senate in 2019.
The Ilocos Norte politiko made the statement during the 4th Cornhusk and Waterliliy Festival in Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija.
Marcos said she is “encouraged” by the initial results of the electoral protest by her brother, former senator Bongbong Marcos, against Vice President Leni Robredo.
“He does not want to give up because there is hope,” she said.
Marcos said only her and Bongbong are politically-inclined.
“The truth is there is no one in the family inclined to politics. My mother asked if she can rest now from politics,” she said.
