Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos on May 29 lamented the government’s “failure to invest in people.”
The Ilocos Norte politiko made the remark during her visit in Saranani during a province-wide reading seminar.
Marcos said there is a need for more investment in education in the country.
“There has been a failure to invest in people, even as we invest in bridges and infrastructure — surely, we must afford investment in our own children,” she said.
Marcos also said the years zero to seven are the most important since they are the formative years of children.
She called them the “golden age of learning.”
