Governor Imee Marcos on March 2 called the Ilocos Norte and La Union’s relationship through the years as the “perfect partnership.”
The Ilocos Norte politiko made the statement during the 168th Founding Anniversary celebration of La Union.
Marcos said the towns of San Juan in La Union, and Pagudpud and Badoc in Ilocos Norte are ideal places to visit to get stoked while surfing.
She also said that despite the friendly competition between the two provinces, the La Union and Ilocos Norte have maintained their unity and cooperation.
“Ngayon kasi, mayroon na kaming 1.8 million na turistang dumadaong, tapos dumadating din yung Star Cruises from December to May, so there are about 2,600 coming off the boat, and honestly we don’t have the hotels nor restaurants to accommodate all of these people,” Marcos said.
“I need to share it to everyone, at sino pa kundi ang ating mga ‘karruba’ (neighbors) dito sa Region One?” she added.
