Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos said one of her wishes for 2019 is for every Filipino family to have a home to call their own.
The Ilocos Norte politiko explained that she was alarmed by the projected 6.8 million backlog in housing units by 2022.
Marcos urged the government to aggressively resolve the problem.
Marcos said the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council(HUDCC) should formulate a new comprehensive housing roadmap.
“The new housing roadmap should provide solutions on how to increase housing production and provide shelter affordability through a comprehensive housing subsidy program for targeted beneficiaries,” she said.
