Gov Manotoc places Laoag under GCQ due to COVID-19 cases spike


Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc has placed Laoag City under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) due to the recent surge in coroanvirus cases there.

The politiko’s Executive Order Number 110-21 reimposing GCQ in the city took effect on Monday, January 11.

Manotoc placed the tougher quarantine restrictions on the city which recorded 421 cases of COVID-19 as sof Monday. Of this number, 124 are active cases.

Laoag City, a popular tourist destination, was placed under the more relaxed modified GCQ status on Christmas Day last year.
