Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Manotoc said not everyone needs to wear face masks amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) scare.
The Ilocos Norte politiko made the statement after a meeting with Task Force Salun-at on containing the spread of the virus.
“These are the only people who should wear face masks: PUM or persons under monitoring, those who have possibly been expose to COVID-19 carriers but without symptoms; PUI or persons under investigation, those who show COVID-19 symptoms; individuals who are sick; and those who have direct contact of PUM, PUI, or people with COVID-19 like our frontline service providers,” Manotoc said.
He also lauded the medical frontliners of the province.
“Thank you. We could not express enough our gratitude to all of you, most especially our health workers and everyone who is dealing with this,” he said.
