Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc called on Ilocanos to still complete the mandatory 14-day quarantine even if their RT-PCR test yield negative results for COVID-19.
The politiko said on Saturday, August 8, that even the swab test is “not perfect.”
“It is important to quarantine for 14 days after being exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 case even if you swab-tested negative. The PCR test is also not negative,” Manotoc said in a Facebook post.
The governor said the people must always consider that they could still be carriers of COVID-19.
“Your greatest protections are a medical mask, six feet of distance from others, ventilation, and fresh air. Let us care for one another by giving each other personal space,” he added.
