Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba on January 19 said he is endorsing a 10-day enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Tuguegarao amid the spike in coronavirus disease (COVID19) cases in the city.
The Cagayan politiko said 236 out of the 373 cases in the province are in Tuguegarao.
“Prior to this kasi, noong dumadami na nung December 15, nagsasabi na ako ng MECQ pero ang inayunan pa rin nila is yung MGCQ,” Mamba said.
“But this time, mas lalong dumami kasi and our local transmissions, community transmission is almost 40 percent of the cases,” he added.
Mamba he said he is hopeful that the 10-day ECQ will be enough to control the transmission of the coronavirus.
“But I’m still praying po na ‘yung 10 days na ECQ nila ay they will have control sa COVID at noon ko pa naman sinasabi sa kanila na they have to study yung kanilang community quarantine status kasi ang hirap icontrol kung ang community quarantine status ay masyadong maluwag,” he said.
