Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba on January 19 said the spike in coronavirus disease (COVID19) cases in Tuguegarao City was caused by severe flooding in November and the holiday gatherings last November.
The Cagayan politiko made the remark after he expressed support for the declaration of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Tuguegarao.
He said 236 out of the 373 cases in the province are in Tuguegarao.
“Hindi na bumababa since bumaha and then after the Christmas season, may upsurge nanaman,” Mamba said.
“So I think it’s a summation ng lahat ng ito na nagko-cause ng maraming cases,” he added.
