Mountain Province Governor Bonifacio Lacwasan Jr said the provincial government is eyeing the continuous “east-west trading” of agricultural products amid the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
The Mountain Province politiko said this will ensure that farmers’ vegetable produce will not go to waste.
The province’s eastern municipalities produce fruits, corn, and freshwater fish.
The western towns, meanwhile, produce carrots, cabbage, and potatoes.
Lacwasan also said pursuing the trade route will ensure that relief assistance to various communities will continue.
“We have to shoot two birds with one stone to satisfy the issues and concerns of the people for the market of their produce and the relief assistance for the heavily impacted sectors,” he said.
“We saw the good opportunity in pursuing the east-west trading of agricultural produce which we are now implementing on a periodic basis for us to be able to hurdle the challenges of the prevailing crisis,” Lacwasan added.
