Mountain Province Governor Bonifacio Lacwasan Jr said the province’s centenarians are the “epitome of aging well.”
The Mountain Province politiko personally distributed cash gifts worth P30,000 each to three new centenarians.
Lacwasan also gave plaques of recognition to Dominga Bangiwan and Gertud Chilem.
Meanwhile, the family of Hilda Charongen received her plaque and cash gift.
Charongen passed away last January 28.
She was supposed to receive her award last January 18 but it was postponed because of stricter quarantine measures last month.
“I have been personally handing the awards to our centenarians because I want to personally hear their stories and learn their secrets,” Lacwasan said.
“They are epitomes of aging well and healthy living; thus, it is but proper to give them proper recognition,” he added.
