Pangasinan Governor Amado Espino III on October 7 said the provincial government remains vigilant in containing the spread of African Swine Fever (ASF).
Last September 26, 71 hogs were culled in Barangay Baloling in Mapandan after 30 of 60 hogs tested positive for ASF.
Because of this, hogs from towns and cities within the seven-kilomenter radius of Mapandan are under surveillance.
The towns include Mangaldan, Manaoag, Urdaneta, San jacinto, Laoac, and Pozorubbio.
“Safe na po ang probinsya. Isa ring proof na safe na talaga dahil nag-random testing at walang lumabas na positive sa asf,” Espino said.
