Pangasinan Governor Amado Espino III said that the results of the random blood testing of hogs for African Swine Fever (ASF) in Mapandan were negative.
The Pangasinan politiko, in a statement, said this means that the implementation of the 1-7-10 protocol was successful.
But Espino lamented that the 30 hogs that died in Barangay Apalen in Bayambang were tested positive of the ASF virus.
“I have already directed the Task Force to follow the same procedure we did in Mapandan to stop the virus from infecting other hogs,” he said.
“Again, I reiterate my call to all concerned municipal and barangay officials to be more vigilant in guarding all possible entry points to Pangasinan and in closely monitoring swine industries within their respective jurisdictions,” Espino added.
