Benguet Governor Melchor Diclas said it is up to local government units (LGU) in the province if they will reopen their tourism sites in September.
The Benguet politiko made the remark after the Baguio city government announced it might reopen its local tourism industry next month.
Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong said the reopening of tourism will depend on the status of coronavirus disease (COVID19) in other critical areas like Metro Manila.
Diclas explained he expects a spillover of tourists to other towns once Baguio tourism reopens.
“It would still depend on the local government units of the towns if they will decide to open or not,” he said.
