Benguet Governor Melchor Diclas said the provincial government is postponing the reopening of the province’s tourist sites.
This after a spike in coronavirus disease (COVID19) cases in the province.
The Benguet politiko said the provincial government will wait for COVID19 cases to be manageable again before pushing through with the reopening.
Provincial Tourism Operations Officer Eleazar Carias said the guidelines for the reopening has already been sent to Benguet’s 13 local government units.
“We recommended a gradual opening starting from the residents then an intra-municipality arrangement. The people of Benguet would be the first to enjoy their own tourist sites,” Carias said.
