Benguet Governor Melchor Diclas expressed his gratitude to Manila Mayor Isko Moreno for making adjustments to the closure of Divisoria during the feast of Santo Niño in Tondo from January 17-20.
The Benguet politiko said Moreno assured him that vegetable farmers and traders will be allowed to sell their produce during the celebration.
Vegetable farmers and traders earlier said their produce will be wasted if they will not be allowed to sell them in Divisoria.
“We are grateful to Mayor Moreno for his timely intervention in the concern raised by our vegetable farmers and truckers,” Diclas said.
“He was able to see the impact of the proposed closure of Divisoria to the local vegetable industry that is why appropriate adjustments were made to ensure the continuous sale of vegetables even during the height of their festivities in Tondo,” he added.
