Gov Diclas eyes opening of Benguet tourism sites to residents

Benguet Governor Melchor Diclas said he wants mayors to open their towns for local tourism in the province.

The Benguet politiko explained that the move will help revive the tourism industry amid the coronavirus disease (COVID19) pandemic.

Diclas said the provincial government is coordinating with the Department of Tourism (DOT) to properly implement the program.

He said they might pattern the province’s pre-booking scheme with the Baguio Visitors Information and Travel Assistance or the VISITA platform.

“We need to dry run all of these preparations before implementation so we could slowly open our travel and tourism,” Diclas said.
