Gov Cayco signs MOA to build multi-functional fishermen’s shelter in Mavulis Island

A multi-functional fishermen’s shelter will soon rise in Mavulis Island in Batanes.

Mavulis Island is the farthest island-town of Itbayat.

This after the Batanes Governor Marilou Cayco, Republic Cement and Builders Materials Inc., and Armed Forces Chief of Staff Rey Leonardo Guerrero, and Philippine Army Northern Luzon Chief Emmanuel Salamat signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the project.

The multi-functional fishermen’s shelter aims to raise “awareness on maritime governance, maritime presence and the importance of inter-agency coordination in bringing change to our society.”

The shelter in Mavulis will house Batanes fishermen during bad weather and visiting soldiers in the area.
