Abra Governor Jocelyn Valera-Bernos said Cordillera will strengthen its disaster resilience capabilities amid the coronavirus disease (COVID19) pandemic.
The Abra politiko made the statement in her State of the Region Address (SORA).
Bernos is the chairperson of the Cordillera Regional Development Council.
She said the region “will be giving greater emphasis to disaster resilience, as it battles a new disaster in the form of a pandemic.”
“Our experience with COVID-19 necessitates enriching our disaster preparedness plans and programs by including pandemic readiness and response,” Bernos added.
