Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc is grieving over the death of his good friend, San Nicolas Mayor Domingo Ambrocio.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, August 3, the North Luzon politiko recalled how Ambrocio has been by his side throughout his years in government.
Manotoc said the “Mouth of San Nicolas” took every opportunity to remind Ilocanos that he owed his political career to Senator Imee Marcos, the governor’s mother, and the rest of the family.
“When I campaigned for Doming, I said he was the embodiment of the quote ‘of the people, by the people, and for the people’. And I said it was time to bring the Municipal Government back to where it belonged: with the people. Some people don’t even begin to chase their life’s dream. Though Doming may not have sat as Mayor for long, he did reach his lifelong ambition of becoming Mayor. In that, I hope he’s able to rest peacefully. You’ve arrived, Doming,” said Manotoc.
“Thank you for all your help and thank you for the memories. On behalf of your kakailian, dios ti agngina. Rest in Peace my friend,” he added.
