Local officials in Benguet said that they are expecting more tourists in the town because of its frost phenomenon.
On Tuesday, January 31, Atok Municipal Agricultural Officer Cherry Sano said that the phenomenon has been a popular feat for visitors during the previous years.
“Naging destination na ang Atok (Atok has become a destination) with the beautiful flowers, vegetable farms, and the very cold temperature that causes frost,” she said.
“Every year starting in November, we are being asked about frost by adventurous persons who take time to arrive early morning to take selfies with the frosted plants. Wala kasi iyon sa ibang lugar (it is not present in other places in the country),” she added.
