Former Dingras, Ilocos Norte mayor Marynette Gamboa has been arrested over a case she is facing over the 2009 killing of an electric cooperative official.
Gamboa was arrested by the Philippine National Police (PNP) last June 28 at her condominium unit in Barangay Bagumbayan, Quezon City.
Her arrest was based on the arrest warrant issued by Judge Felix Salvador of Batac City, Ilocos Norte.
Gamboa is facing before the court a murder charge with no bail recommended.
The former local chief executive has been accused in the murder of Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative (INEC) director and president Lorenzo Rey Ruiz.
The victim was killed during an ambush in Langayan, Currimao, Ilocos Norte in 2009.
