The Cordillera office of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-CAR) said the more than 200,000 workers in the region’s formal sector can already avail of the agency’s financial aid amid the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
DOLE-CAR Regional Director Exequiel Roni Guzman said workers of service-oriented sectors like hotels, restaurants, and retail establishments have been severely affected by the ECQ.
“Several have been temporarily displaced as an effect of the COVD,” Guzman said.
DOLE has released an initial P10 million for the workers’ financial aid.
Each worker can avail of P5,000 aid.
“Application is filed online so that they do not need to go to our office,” Guzman said.
