The Marcos clan marked the 104th birth anniversary of their family patriarch by giving various forms of assistance to Ilocanos on Saturday, September 11.
The birth anniversary celebration for the late strongman Ferdinand Marcos Sr. started with a thanksgiving Mass at Batac Church at 7 am, then a wreath-laying ceremony at the Daytoy Ti Bannawag Monument.
After these came a string of activities spearheaded by the Marcoses, including free dialysis treatments for patients at the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center.
Indigent families in Paoay, Sarrat, and Pasuquin also received COVID-19 relief packs, while senior citizens celebrating their birthdays also received gifts.
The Marcos family also organized a vaccination drive for Ilocanos who were due to receive their second COVID-19 vaccine dose.
“Times have changed. Hardships may come and go, but like what he had always emphasized, ‘disiplina at pagkakaisa’ is the key to this nation’s progress. Through discipline and unity, we will prevail more resilient than ever. Let us do our part and believe that, we, as a nation, will be great again,” said the Marcos Centennial Facebook page.
“Happy birthday, Apo Lakay! May your wisdom and philosophy guide us as we take the path to a better future,” the page added.
