The camp of defeated vice presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos said they are “completely surprised and quite shocked” the Supreme Court, sitting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal, has already completed a probe into the controversial “Pansol outing.”
The Marcos camp earlier filed a motion before the PET to probe the outing, saying it was a violation of the Code of Conduct for Court Personnel and the Canon of Judicial Ethics when one of Vice President Leni Robredo’s revisors joined the court staff in Pansol.
Marcos lawyer Vic Rodriguez said they did not know the PET was already conducting a probe into the matter.
“Former Senator Marcos as the protestant has all the right to know and be duly notified by Justice Caguioa as to when the investigation commenced, who conducted it, what was the findings and penalty meted out and for violating what?” he asked.
“The fact that we filed the manifestation clearly indicates all of these – the illegal Pansol outing, the purported surreptitious investigation, the highly secretive penalty imposed – happened without our knowledge,” Rodriguez added.
