‘Di lang pampulitika! De Venecia eyes Department of Sports
Pangasinan 4th District Representative Christopher De Venecia on January 23 chaired the Joint Technical Working Group on the creation of a Department of Sports.
The Pangasinan politiko said the Department of Sports is intended to replace the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).
De Venecia said the proposed department will be the sole agency in charge of the country’s sports programs.
He also said the creation of the Department of Sports aims to create an integrated and comprehensive Sports Promotion and Development program.
“The Department of Sports is envisioned to be the single agency tasked to strengthen the country’s sports development and promotion program, sports institutions, and access to infrastructure and facilities, not only for our athletes but for the general public as well,” De Venecia said.
