Isabela First District Representative Antonio “Tonypet” Albano said not everyone in his hometown Cabagan would be covered by the government’s cash aid program amidst the Luzon lockdown.
The politiko explained on Friday, April 10, that only the poorest of the poor would be covered by the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Social Amelioration Program under the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.
“Sadly, the National DSWD Social Amelioration program will not be able to give help to everyone in Cabagan as posted by our local LGU that I’m sharing now. In this time of crisis, the National DSWD program saw fit to only give the poorest of the poor some financial assistance firstly,” Albano said in a Facebook post.
He then asked for the “patience, cooperation, generosity, magnanimity, and understating” of residents in Cabagan and Isabela’s First District.
“My home town of Cabagan, and my 1st district, and our beloved Isabela Province, and our country, is feeling the pains of this crisis that no one has predicted. Let us wait for the other benefits that PRRD has promised to the people,” Albano said.
“It’s a matter of time that we get more packages and help from the other agencies like DOLE, DA, and more, he added.
