Members of the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Regional Disaster Risk Reduction nd Management Council (RDRRMC) have also appealed for psychosocial help for the victims of the magnitude 7 quake that jolted Abra last week.
CAR RDRRMC chairperson Director Albert Mogol said in a briefing that residents are also in need of debriefing sessions after the calamity.
“We need psychosocial processing for the earthquake victims because aftershocks are still being felt. There are teams from the Department of Health (DOH) in other regions that already came in to help,” Mogol said.
During the event, Dr. Rio Magpantay, director of DOH-CAR Center for Health Development (CHD) also appealed for potable and non-potable water, addressing concerns about the possible spread of COVID-19 and other hygiene-related illnesses in evacuation centers.
“We have wash concerns here. We have problems on water and toilets. To address this, we are providing portalets to the evacuees,” Magpantay noted.
