Controversial historical fiction film “Maid in Malacañang,” which features the Marcoses’ side of the EDSA People Power Revolution, tallied P21 million on its first day of screening.
Senator Imee Marcos, the film’s executive producer, posted about the movie’s opening day achievement on her Facebook page on Thursday, August 4.
“P21 MILLION na pasasalamat sa aming opening day! #MiMDay2Showing here we come!” said Marcos.
“Maid in Malacañang,” directed by pro-Marcos director Darryl Yap, is currently available in over 200 cinemas nationwide.
The movie depicts the final 72 hours of the Marcos clan in Malacañang just before they were exiled when the patriarch, the dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr., was ousted during the bloodless revolution.
