The Nueva Vizcaya provincial board has urged local government officials and employees to become model taxpayers by paying their Real Property Tax (RPT) dues promptly and on time.
Under Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution No. 2023-4438, the board specified the province’s Revenue Code that provides Tax Discount for Prompt Payment and Advance Payment among RPT taxpayers.
“If the basic real property and the additional tax accruing to the Special Education Fund (SEF) are paid on or before the deadlines, the taxpayer shall be entitled to a discount of 10 percent. If the above-mentioned taxes are paid in full before January 1 of the taxable year, the taxpayer shall be entitled to 15 percent tax discount,” the resolution said.
Rhoda Moreno, provincial treasurer noted that the resolution would help their tax collection efforts given that the provincial government is facing a budget deficit for this year.
“Government officials and employees must heed this call by the SP. We should be an example among our fellow Novo Vizcayanos in settling our RPTs. In turn, this will help us in our campaign to collect taxes on time,” she said.
