Former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. urged the Commission Elections (COMELEC) to make voter registration more accessible to Filipinos.

The Ilocano politiko, who is eyeing to run for president in the 2022 polls, made the call in a Facebook post on Friday, September 24.

There has been calls for COMELEC to extend the voter registration deadline from September 30 to October 31, but the poll body still wouldn’t budge.

Marcos’ alternative? Increase the number of accredited shopping malls where Filipinos can register instead.

“Kung hindi kaya i-extend ng COMELEC ang voter registration deadline, dapat damihan man lang ang mga mall na may registration centers at hayaan ring makapag walk-in ang mga ‘di maka-book ng appointment sa internet,” he said.
