Former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. denounced the land mine explosion that killed cousins Kieth and Nolven Absalon in Masbate City.
In an Instagram post on Thursday, June 10, the Ilocano politiko said the members of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and its armed group New People’s Army should be held accountable for Absalons’ deaths. The CPP already claimed responsibility for the blast.
“There is no greater tragedy than to lose the best of our innocent youth to terrorism; innocents attacked as if they were combatants. No amount of remorse or form of indemnification will ever bring them back to their families,” said Marcos.
“Ang mga ganyang gawain o ‘ideolohiya’ ay walang lugar sa inaasam nating sibilisadong lipunan. Buong puwersa ng batas ang magpapanagot sa kanila,” he added.
