Former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said it’s not enough Filipinos thank health workers for their service during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Ilocano politiko said on Thursday, May 7, that the public should make sure frontliners are well-protected while in line of duty.
Marcos made the statement as the country observed National Health Workers Day.
“Of the 10,000 COVID cases in the Philippines, over 1,400 are health workers. This speaks volumes of their selflessness and commitment to putting the safety of the Filipino people above their own,” Marcos said.
“Let us do more than cheer for our frontliners today. Let us also never forget their sacrifice, and let us make a vow to do more to protect them in their duties,” he added.
