Baguio City Jail personnel, PDLs clear of drug use

All personnel and deprived of liberty (PDL) in the Baguio City Jail Male Dormitory were cleared of illegal drug use.

On Thursday, BCJMD warden Supt. Mary Ann Ollaging Tresmanio announced that the surprise random drug testing conducted in the facility returned negative of any illegal drug use. She noted that the test was conducted last September 27 by the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center-Outpatient Drug Testing Rehabilitation Center (BGHMC-ODTR).

Last week, a joint inspection by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Drug Enforcement Group-Cordillera of the Philippine National Police was also held.

According to Tresmanio, this in line with the efforts of the BJMP to maintain the order of the jail dormitory and are part of the process of the renewal of the drug-free facility certificate of the BCJMD.

The facility was first issued its drug-free certificate in 2019.

“We are serious with what we do that is why we have the Katatagan, Kalusugan at Damayan sa Komunidad (KKDK) which is a drug dependency counseling program developed by the Psychological Association of the Philippines,” she said.
