“Incredibly stupid.”

That’s how Ifugao Representative Teddy Baguilat Jr. described the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) move to include seven Cordillerans in its list of terrorists.

They are United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Victoria “Vicky” Tauli Corpuz, human rights lawyer Jose Molintas, Joanna Carino, Windel Farag-ey Bolinget, Sherwin de Vera, Beveryl Sakongan Longid, and Jeannette Ribaya Cawiding.

The DOJ alleges they are part of communist groups.

“Vicky Tauli-Corpuz, Joan Karling, Beverly Longid. Cordilleran Woman. Human Rights defenders. Now in the terrorist list of DOJ. Incredibly stupid,” Baguilat tweeted on Thursday, March 9.

“Vicky is the UN Rapporteur for Indigenous Peoples. Joan used to head the Asia Indigenous People’s Pact in Thailand,” he added.

Nakakaloka talaga, Cong. Teddy!
