Baguio City Mayor Benjie Magalong was filled with pride now that the Panagbenga Festival is back in its full glory after three pandemic years.
The North Luzon politiko led the flower festival’s opening on Wednesday, February 1. He said this is another sign that Baguio is already recovering from the coronavirus pandemic.
“Let today mark the promising beginning of a Panagbenga festival back on its feet, a people fully risen, a city moving on in a post-pandemic world. This is Panagbenga 2023 in all its full magnificence: innovative, integrating, elevating the very best that Baguio is today,” Magalong said on Facebook.
“With much pride, we officially declare Panagbenga 2023 now open! Happy Panagbenga to one and all!” he added.
