The House committee on good goverment and public accountability on March 19 once again issued a subpoena agaist Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos in connection to the province’s use of tobacco excise tax.
The House probe is different from the one last year but is still related.
Majority Leader Rodolfo Fariñas earlier called for a probe into the alleged misuse of tobacco funds for the purchase of vehicles by the Ilocos Norte provincial government.
The new resolution was filed by the Makabayan bloc.
The new probe seeks to investigate the allege lapses of the provincial government in the procurement process.
