Dagupan City was proud to announce that nearly all of the local healthcare workers and medical frontliners are already vaccinated against COVID-19.

Data from the city health office (CHO) showed that a total of 6,996 or 94.5% of the LGUs doctors, nurses, and hospital staff were already inoculated and have received their first dose. They also recorded over 2,000 healthcare workers who have completed both doses of the vaccine.

Mayor Bryan Lim expressed that they are looking forward to vaccinating their local healthcare workers as soon as more vaccine brands become available in the city.

“We can’t really have a 100-percent vaccination rate because of different reasons,” the Politiko said in an interview.

Dagupan City has the highest vaccination rate of medical frontliners among the local governments in Ilocos Region, followed by Pangasinan, which has 62 percent of 20,496, La Union (56 percent out of 14,106), Ilocos Sur (40 percent out of 21,812), and Ilocos Norte (40 percent of 15,509).
