Alert! COVID cases in Ilocos Norte nearing to breach 3,000-mark

The provincial government of Ilocos Norte reported that they are nearing the 3,000 mark for COVID-19 active cases after the addition of 17 new positive infections on Friday, June 11.

Local health authorities have expressed alarm on the continuous increase of active cases in the province. Its capital, Laoag City, still logged the highest number of cases at 142.

The LGU has also reported the granular lockdown in at least 26 areas in the towns of Bacarra, San Nicolas, Paoay, Marcos, Solsona, Pasuquin, and Dingras. The rest of Ilocos Norte however, remains under the least stringent modified general community quarantine, except for Laoag City which has been under general community quarantine since May 11.
