3 dead due to Maring, 13 remain missing – NDRRMC

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council has confirmed that the death toll from Severe Tropical Storm Maring rose to 30, while 13 others remain missing as of Thursday, October 14.

According to the organization, the province of Ilocos Sur logged the majority of the deaths with 14 fatalities, followed by Benguet with nine, and Laguna and Palawan with four each.The provinces of Cagayan and Pangasinan logged two and one dead, respectively.

Moreover, more that 50,000 families across the hit provinces were displaced and left over P1 billion-worth of damage to agriculture.
